An integral part of this is taking the finance function to a level unsurpassed in our industry. A key element of this goal is a strong government accounting compliance team. The Government Staff Accountant plays a critical role in the government reporting and government accounting functions of the company. The Government Staff Accountant will also research various government accounting issues and recommend appropriate actions. Key Responsibilities Assists with the preparation of a timely and accurate Incurred Cost and Provisional Rate Submissions for distribution to senior management and the cognizant government agency. Ensures compliance with FAR and CAS Assists with the design and completion of various compliance audits Participates in ensuring that processes supporting the government compliance function are effective and efficient in accordance with best practices within the industry Researches, devises and implements process improvements in close collaboration with management Ensures the sound application of technology to government accounting processes Assists with the calculation and monitoring the Company’s indirect rates on a monthly basis. Monitors company compliance with time reporting policy. Prepares labor metrics for senior management Participates in the evaluation of conformance with company policies and procedures and applicable regulations and recommends changes when appropriate. Monitors developments in government procurement statues, regulations, and CAS Board pronouncements. Notifies management of any changes to regulations and the potential impact of the change on current company processes. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting In depth knowledge of the FAR and CAS 3 - 5 years of previous accounting experience Superior computer skills with a particular expertise in Excel Excellent communications skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must be a critical thinker and problem solver able to question what is and recommend what should be Team player with a strong work ethic Must demonstrate a strong desire to succeed and be the best.
