Job Description: Hershey Lodge is Pennsylvania's Largest Convention Resort with 100,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space and 665 guest rooms. It is a comfortable, yet state-of-the-art facility, designed to accommodate meetings of all sizes. As a Convention Services Manager, you will work with a dynamic team of Certified Meeting Professionals who provide exceptional service to clients from various regions. As a Convention Services Manager this position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of group bookings, special events, and caterings. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Convention Services of Hershey Lodge. Job Functions: Functions include working with clients to coordinate and develop program details; collaborating with operating departments to create special activities, menus, services, set-ups, AV, etc. Conducting planning visits with clients via in person and/or by phone Producing and maintaining accounts in Delphi Preparing comprehensive group resumes Outlining details of functions on banquet event orders and floor plans Anticipating group needs Coordinating the collective efforts of all departments involved in the execution of the event Reviewing group programs turned over by the sales team for opportunities to up-sell food and beverage, AV, room rental, etc. Chairing service meetings. This position also participates in the Manager on Duty program. Basic Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have high school diploma Must have valid driver’s license Must have a degree in Hospitality Management (or related field) plus two (2) years’ experience in hotel operations, convention services or catering. In lieu of degree, must have five (5) years’ experience in hotel operations, convention services or catering. Additional Expectations: Proven employee/guest relations, communication, problem solving, and organization skills. Keyboarding skills and PC familiarity. Professional image representative of property image. Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language. The ability to interact in a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests and instill such virtue in staff. Schedule will vary according to operating needs. Typical week consists of approximately 40-50 hour work week including evenings, weekend duty rotation, and holidays.
